I am a 27 year old filmmaker and multimedia artist with passions for inspirational visual storytelling and for teaching. I am currently working as a Blu-ray menu author at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where my duties include creating the interactive component of cutting-edge high definition discs, as well as training the graphic design department in 3D modeling with Maya. I am also a teacher with the Princeton Review. Prior to this, I earned my MFA in Interactive Media from the USC School of Cinema-Television, where I studied interactive multimedia design, future cinema, traditional filmmaking, screenwriting, and animation. My artistic experience is complemented well by a strong background in Computer Science, both as an undergraduate at UC San Diego and professionally with defense contractor General Atomics. My portfolio is varied and includes work in digital video & 16mm film shorts, digital game prototypes, animation, and interactive cinematic storytelling. I have a particular passion for writing and directing Christian-themed and otherwise-inspirational stories. Whether this means a film, a game, or some new form of multimedia depends on the needs of the story being told. Please check out the links above for samples of my work, and my resume below for more details about me. Thanks for visiting! - Michael Steffen |
